Save ( Drawing Editor > Ctrl + s )

Tool summary :

  • Writes to disk any changes that you have made to your current drawing.
  • After you Save , Revert will no longer be able to reload the version of the drawing that existed on disk before you Saved . However, you still can Undo .
  • If the drawing you just saved is a member detail or submaterial detail or erection view that is currently on a sheet, that sheet is marked for plotting.

   Step-by-step instructions :

Before doing a Save , you should have made some change to the detail, standard detail, sheet outline or sheet that is your current drawing in the Drawing Editor .

1 . Invoke Save using one (1) of the following methods:

Method 1 : Click the Save icon. The icon can be taken from the group named ' File ' and placed on a toolbar (classic) or the ribbon (lightning).

Method 2 : If " Drawing Editor layout style " is ' Classic ', you can use the menu system to choose File > Save .

Method 3, 4 or 5 : Save can also be invoked using a keyboard shortcut , the context menu , or a mode . For the ' Lightning ' layout style, configuration of the interface is done using Customize Interface .

2 (if applicable) : Skip this step if it does not apply. If a " Detail complete " date has been set, a yes-no warning dialog opens.

Alternative 1 : Press the " Yes " button to save the changes to your current drawing. Go to step 3.

Alternative 2 : Press " No " or " Cancel " to cancel the save operation. Do not continue.

3 . Save overwrites the previously saved version of your current drawing file, thus saving any changes that you have made since you first opened that drawing or last saved that drawing. The status line reports the name of your current file and informs you that it has been saved.
